New Classes

I'm missing hearing from everyone. Several are taking new classes, others may be vacationing or having other things going on. Drop us a note to let you know how you are doing. Is your chair glue still holding, are you in need of more catalyst for the mixture, are there threads from your socks wrapped around and choking your second-to-the-smallest toe?

Oh, I definitely need chair glue :) I'm catching up in class as we speak (finished Lesson 3 and have the idea for Lesson 4). I'm pretty happy with how my story came out in Lesson 2...feel like the character was an interesting one.

Life outside of classs is crazy and hectic. I'm going to have to go emergency housesit/dogspoil for a friend of mine at work, which is disrupting everything. But, it goes to show that I was right about not having enough discpline yet in terms of writing. I'm letting a lot of excuses get in the way.

The new class seems to have good content...the set-up doesn't seem to foster as much discussion, at least to me. I hope you saw my notes (a) in explaining haiku on my blog and (b) about your writing for Lesson 2. I really do think you have interesting stories to share regarding how you chose your male role models and what qualities you felt were important. I can definitely see an audience for that.

Hi! Life is in the fast lane. I'm behind on my class, not because I have stopped writing, but because life is plain hectic!

I'm swamped with band music for our community band. We are in the middle of Christmas Music!

Then there's work and my own family..and (yawn) I'm tired. Just got back from a wonderful evening out with my husband!

Hey GU! It's been a while since I checked in here.

I haven't been doing much writing of late. Life has gotten in the way. The job is busier. My kids started school and all their activities have kicked in. I've got a whole litany of excuses, legitimate and otherwise.

I haven't had a chance to read and comment on the new material people have posted here the past few weeks. For that matter, I didn't get to see a lot of the creative pieces that got posted the last few weeks that our discussion boards for the class were open. I feel bad about both those things.

I've got a trip out to the west coast coming up early next month, but once I'm past that, I plan to get serious about writing again. When that happens I'll be on here a lot more. In the meantime, I hope everyone is well and making progress on their various writing projects.

Nice to hear from you all. I'm in New Orleans right now and for the coming week. So far I've visited two plantations, landed in a jet aircraft on a runway supported by styrofoam, and eaten three things I've never eaten before. (Alligator, rabbit and crawfish) And I've only been here a little over one day!

GU, I miss our class discussion boards so I need to get back here more often. I am taking the Magazine Writing class which I am having mixed feelings about. The instructor is good, but is not Anne. Anyway, you do alot of research for this class and I am constantly changing my mind. I think I would do better on essays or personal narratives rather than articles, but I am learning to write an article if it kills me. :) Was just looking for some familiar faces/postings!!

Hensci (A Native American Creek hello) hope all is well with everyone. From the previous post, it seems that I'm not the only one that is having a hectic time. Taking care of mom and working to keep doors open at work is surely taking its toll. I didn't take other writing classes as most of you have. I am taking C++ For The Absolute Beginner and The Magic of Hypnosis. The hypnosis is a personal improvement task and the C++ is to satisfy my curiosity. After the personal hypnosis I intend to take other writing classes. There is a script in one of the hypnosis lessons that actually addresses writers block. I hope this will be beneficial for me.
I know this is off topic but may I request a prayer for our country and the leaders we have and the ones we are about to have and the people that are about to make the decisions for these new leaders. I know whatever the outcome, God is still in control. Thank you all and God bless each of you.
Oh and btw the picture in my profile, if anyone is interested, is a picture that my husband and I took of the Devils Punchbowl in Oregon. It was quite amazing to stand there and watch it fill up with water.
